Calhoun Superior Court Calendars
The South Georgia Judicial Circuit is calendar-driven. The circuit calendar page posts hearing day calendars, civil notices, civil pretrial notices, trial calendars, criminal trial calendars, habeas calendars, and WebEx hearing links. In the active research set, Calhoun-specific materials included a Baker and Calhoun civil hearing day calendar for June 17, 2026, Calhoun civil notice dates, Calhoun civil pretrial and trial notices, and a Calhoun criminal trial calendar for May Term with a June 1, 2026 trial date.

South Georgia Judicial Circuit
Calhoun County belongs to the same circuit as Baker, Decatur, Grady, and Mitchell Counties. The circuit homepage lists Chief Judge Heather H. Lanier in Camilla, Presiding Judge M. Claire Chason in Cairo, and Presiding Judge Lawton C. Heard, Jr. in Bainbridge. Research noted a source conflict because an older court-officers page still lists A. Wallace Cato as chief judge, while the homepage appears newer because it carries 2025 and 2026 announcements. The newer homepage should control unless a later official update says otherwise.
The court officers page provides criminal-case context. District Attorney Joseph Mulholland serves the South Georgia Judicial Circuit, with main office contact in Bainbridge. Assistant District Attorneys and investigators are listed on the circuit page. The Public Defender is Hoyle "Tre" McLendon, with a Bainbridge office serving Baker, Calhoun, Decatur, Grady, and Mitchell Counties. The Mitchell County Department of Community Supervision is listed as handling Baker and Calhoun cases as well, which matters for probation, revocation, sentence-condition, and warrant issues.

Calhoun Superior And Federal Courts
Calhoun County is served federally by the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, Albany Division. The Albany office serves many southwest Georgia counties, including Calhoun, and sits at the C.B. King United States Courthouse in Albany. Federal case types can include federal crimes, civil-rights claims, federal-question civil suits, diversity civil suits, prisoner litigation, bankruptcy, and federal agency litigation. Those records are not kept by the Calhoun County Clerk of Superior Court.
